I have a 98 cavalier. I found that the passenger side cv joint had appeared to be dry for many months. I am defintely replacing that one but is it a good idea to replace both axles to ensure no near future problems. With the ease of this process on these vehicles to do so I would think to replace both axles. What do you think?

Absolutely not. These axles are near bullet proof. I would rather have a original gm factory axle than a rebuilt one. I dont think you will have any problems if you leave it alone.
