Whenever I turn on the heat/defrost it smells like gas inside my car. Why is it doing that? How can I stop it?

I'm not entirely sure, but I have the same problem with my 98 Cavalier.
Last time I took it into a mechanic to get the O2 sensor fixed, the manager said he thought he smelled fuel, and said that it could be a leaky fuel injector; apparently Cavaliers are notorious for these?
Any help, experts? And how expensive is such a fix?

The 4 cyl engine is common for a leaking injector. I would also check the fuel lines to make sure one is not leaking.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know about how much such a repair would cost?
