Engine Cooling problem
1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 199, 00 miles

I had some one replace my engine cooling fan after the guys that change my oil indicated that it was not working. But I do not think it is coming on. I stop periodically after driving when gauge goes near the hot side but it is not on. How can I check to see if it works without waiting for car to heat up? Also, I do not know what general things are under hood i.E "relay switch". Im almost thinking that he replaced the wrong fan motor. Are there different fans with different motors?

Welcome to the forum, my info shows only one radiator fan motor. If you unplug the coolant temp sensor, then turn the key on, I believe the fan should run. The coolant temp sensor should be close to where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine.
