Hi there,
I would be checking the vacuum check valve and the brake booster, when you brake the booster is activated via the master cylinder and engine vacuum is applied to operate the booster, if the check valve or booster is faulty excess vacuum is drawn from the manifold and engine stall can occur. Quick check is to remove the booster vacuum line at the manifold and block up. DO NOT DRIVE CAR>> Operate brakes, pedal will be very hard (no Vacuum assist) and if engine idles OK you have found the problem.
