My car lost power while driving, but the lights still work.
Now it won't start, it won't even turn over. All the fuses are good, the battery & cables are fine.
Could it be the solenoid or the fusible link?
Thank you.

Hello,

I take it the vehicle lost power and died. If this is so first thing I would check is the Battery and the Alternator. If you haven't already try jump starting it. If it starts then dies shortly after removing cable I would say it's your Alternator.

FYI - Just because all your eletronics work doesn't mean your battery isn't bad. Your battery can be fully charged and showing 12.56 volt using a volt meter. However, if the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) are low then it would cause a no start problem. And a volt meter won't show you what the CCA's are.

I tried to jump it and it wouldn't even start off of a jump. Could it be the solenoid?

Yes it could be. There is a Starter Enable Relay to the right of the Glove Box. Check it below is a link for testing....

https://www.2carpros.com/how_to/how_do_i_check_a_relay.htm

Or take a look at the numbers on the relay and look at the relays in the under hood fuse box. Match the numbers and swap it. Remember which one you swapped. If starts replace relay.

Also, before removing and having the starter tested. Have you tried your Spare key. If I am not mistaken there is a chip inside the key and if it is bad will cause your problem.

If still doesn't start then would need to remove starter take it to your local parts store and have them test it before replacing.
