Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Chevy Camaro V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic n/a miles

i camaro 92 have a z28 350 tpi motor.I can start it up and it will run normal for maybe 30 mins. Then once I come to an idle or stop it dies. Then it has to cool down for a couple of hours. Then it will start again. Also to the same thing but keeps geting worse. Could it be the headgaskets plenim gaskets?Distribitor?Ecm? If it is the head gaskets. Should I replace all uper gaskets?Get heads in the machine shop? Then put it back together? Or buy and engine rebuild kit and put it back together? My cars been siting for 2 years in driveway im stoked.

Chances are it's not the headgasket. It sounds electrical to me. Have you scanned the computer for codes?

Hi jacob. As joe stated it is prob not a head gasket.A headgasket seals compression oil and coolant if a gasket is bad one of those three things will be leaking if you have no water in the oil no coolant leaking on the block and no hi pressure in the cooling system. Then no hg probs. Runs for 30 mins and dies, when it dies it is missing something it needs to run fuel fire comp. Since it runs comp is prob not an issue. Fuel pump ign module coil. Ecm. Hope this helps billymac
