I have a th350 transmission and this pan has always given me trouble. I cannot stop it from leaking. After having the car sitting in storage for over a decade I changed the fluid in the tranny along with the fiiler, gasket and the gear selector seal as I 'm getting ready to place the car back on the road. After tightening up the gasket lightly at first and more as I added the fluid since some weren't tight enough and sprang leaks I still cannot get the front rim of the pan to seal properly. I've already checked the front seal and it is dry as can be and can clearly see the fluid coming from the pan gasket and no where else. Is it possible that the pan flange or rim is slighlty warped from previously being over tightened? What can I can to remedy this situation shy of replacing the pan or is that my only alternative. Thank you so much for your help since it keeps me up a night only to run to the garage in the morning to see if it has stopped.

Take pan off look at where the bolt holes are if they are raised above the flange they where over tightened. So the dimpled bolt hole area tightens but the gasket to flange area does not thus leak. Find a flat piece off metal put in vise use like an anvil and tap around the pan and depress holes. Also take a straight edge to pan see if it is warped. If so lay hole side down on very level surface and tap around flange brass punch is best till pan lays flat. Thihten up with 1/4 in drive less likely to over tighten. Use NO sealant on gasket it will make it's own hydrostatic seal.
