HELLO, I HAVE A 2002 CHEVY BLAZER 55,000 MILES. IT HAS BEEN RUNNING FINE NO PROBLEMS WHEN I CAME OUT OF WORK IT WOULD NOT START. I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS THE BATTERY OR THE ALTERNATOR BECAUSE THEY HAVE RECENTLY BEEN REPLACED. THE CAR WILL TURN OVER AND MAKE NOISE BUT WILL NOT START. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS WHAT THIS MIGHT BE BEFORE I SHELL OUT MY ARMS AND LEGS TO GET IT FIXED? THANK YOU!

If the car cranks fine then you have either a fuel or ignition problem. You can make a few checks to put you on the right track. Start with the easier checks first. Have an assistant turn the key on (not running) while you listen at the fuel tank to see if the pump is running. You should hear it hum for about 2 seconds and then turn off. If it is running then the relay, fuses, and wiring are good and means you probably have a ignition problem. Keep in mind that this only proves that the pump is electrical sound and you could still have a fuel problem such as a clogged fuel filter, kinked line a bad fuel pump (mechanical) or clogged/ bad injectors ETC. Next check for spark at one of the plugs. No spark then you have to check the ignition system out to see where the fault lies. Good luck :)
