The check engine light recently came on. I took it to O'Reilly's to have it scanned to see what the code was and he tried 2 different scanners and said each one showed a fault and would not scan. He said that probably meant the computer itself was bad. Wondering if that was a correct assumption and how this can be detected spending minimal amount of money. Also, if the computer is bad does this create a problem itself with the functioning of the vehicle?
