The chord to open the hood of my car broke off from the housing...I do not know how to get my hood to open? or find the chord?

Not a fun job but not real hard. If you look up under the hood where the latch is you can usually see the cable and where it goes. Since the cable is already bad you have two options cut the outer sheath and pull the inner cable OR use a small bar to trip the hood release.
Once you're in replace the cable. I also like to install a short cable loop out the side of the latch, just in case of a second failure.
