First disconnect the battery! Sometimes it is hard changing the starter. You change it from under the vehicle. Get the truck on a lift or jacked up on ramps. Loosen the two bolts that hold the starter in place but don't remove them yet. You will have to remove the two wires going to the starter, the big one is from the battery and a little one that goes to the soloind, be very careful taking them off. After disconnecting them take them together and move them out of the way. Remove the two bolts the ones that hold the starter in place. The starter will be loose so make sure it does not just fall out. You will have to move the starter around so it will clear the exhaust manifold move it around until you are able to get it out. Remember how it came out so you can install another one. Reconnect the wires and secure the bolts, then hook the battery back up.
