Have you checked timing? It sounds like it is too far advanced?

You're right on the money. I think that I've solved the problem. Seems that the crank shaft position sensor goes a little crazy and advances the timing up to 50degrees resulting in a no start, backfire, engine
kickback conditions. GM makes a revised sensor that
corrects the problem. Thanks again for quick responce
to my question.

YES the problem is fixed. Installed a new crankshaft sensor timing is back to normal runs like new again.
