When I start my vehicle and the engine oil is cold it seems to run fine but when it begins to warm up it starts to make a knocking sound. The sound seems to be coming from the lower side of the engine, or from inside of the oil pan. The vehicle does not lose power just makes a lot of noise. If I could get an answer on this situation that helps me out I will certainly contribute to your site.

Check the oil level and condition of oil, see if it looks milky. Sounds like you are either low on oil or there is lower engine damage. Get back to us after you check the condition of oil.

That is not quite the answer I was looking for. My oil level is fine and I do not have a blown head gasket, the oil is fine. I was wondering what the problem might be if it is in the lower engine. The oil pressure reads low, and I was told it might be the oil pump gears that went out by one person. Their are several other individuals who say it is too loud for that. I have talked with several professionals and they can not make a suggestion unless they take it apart and look at it. We all know that is how you get stuck paying for more than is needed.

Thank you.

Tristan.

Your crank bearings are worn causing the KNOCKING and LOW OIL PRESSURE, the oil is slipping right through the worn bearings between the bearing surface and the crank journals. The knocking is also from the play that you have in the crank bearnings. Better fix it soon!
