1997 Chevy Astro FUEL PUMP

CAR TURNS OVER IN MORNING BUT DIFFICULT TO START. FOR THE FIRST TIME IT STALLED AND WOULDN'T START. USED EITHER THEN IT STARTED AND RUNS FINE. DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONEAND ALL WAS OK. COULD IT BE FUEL PUMP? WHATS IS THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF A FUEL PUMP IN A ASTRO VAN WITH 115, 00O MILES.

Well I would like to assume that your fuel pump is going bad, worst case your fuel injection which these modles have issues with the fuel injection not working properly.

At about 100k to 130k fuel pumps can and may reach there life cycle.

The only way to truley tell is if you get a fuel pressure test done. Operating psi for this van is around 50 to 60 psi. If you you find this to be the problem be sure to have both fuel filter and strainer replaced. I would also recomended adding a bottle of seafoam to a full tank of gas to clean the system.
