1996 Chevy Astro Stuck on defrost?

No matter where we turn the temp controls, air only blows through the defrost vents. The freon was very low so we filled it with 2lbs. All the fuses are good, the vacuum hoses are all connected properly, and of course the air compressor works. Took apart the temp control box from the dash and no apparent problems there. What is this van's problem? Do we need to replace the temp control box in the dash?

You my friend appear to have a broken vacuum line from the intake manifold to the t- connector on the right side of the vehicle. You have to remove the airbox to get access but it can be fixed cheap and quick. Gm should have the replacement vacuum hose for you. It is a hard plastic line
