It will come on for only "a problem" the computer detects.

Yep, if there are multiple problems, the same light will be on for them too.

There are hundreds of possible problems! Just one light.

Take that puppy down to Autozone/ Advance Auto Parts/ other popular auto parts stores

Normally, they can read your codes that the light is on for, This is usually a free service

Here is the hard part

Take pen and paper with you, write down the code number(s). An example code number might be "P0123". You can listen to their explanation (like the computer has rats in it!)

But if you return to us with "their interpretation" of the codes meaning, it is not going help us, we need the actual code number(s), as codes might be interpreted differently dependent on other factors going on with the vehicle.

And yes, the auto store might be dead on with their call, but before you spend big money on a "possible fix", we are here to give you a possible second opinion.

Keep us informed on your findings.

Hi Jimmydao72,

Here is a link to an article that features written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to do the scan yourself, also I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning. Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com. Once you have the codes please get back to us so that we can further assist you. We are always happy to help.
