This is a difficult question because the options are endless but you would be limited in availability. Clearly it would be great to put a VR6 engine in it but they are pricey and probably not very common.

The other thing is, how much work do you want to do in order to get it to fit. I am not finding any cross references for a carb engine that just bolts into your car. Anytime you change an engine you have a large hurdle to get over of just getting the engine mounted. Once it is mounted, then you need a transmission to go with it. Then you have to mount the transmission and axles.

All of this requires cutting and welding so that you can get it mounted.

This of it like a domino effect. Once you change one thing, everything downstream of that is affected and needs to be altered. Clearly it can be done but unless you are prepared to work through all these engines I would try and find someone that has done what you want to do and find out everything you will need so that you are not going in blind.

Unfortunately we have not done this swap so we don't have those specifics but the things to look for are the same no matter what swap you are doing.

Hopefully this helps. Thanks

Thanks, wow that's a lot of work. I am told the engine is bad because the radiator hose busted and car stopped wouldn't start back. The mechanic told me engine has no compression because of overheating. But when the car stopped it never smelled like it overheated and no smoke. Before I brought the car home, he showed me it wouldn't start because of no compression. But after bringing the car home I discovered the hose cut and the side of radiator leaking. So how could the car start with no water. So I will repair the leak and hose before assuming the engine is bad. I've been having a lot of injector and electrical problems with this car is why I'm considering going to a carburetor engine. I have never owned a French car before but have had more problems with this Renault Megane than any other car in my life. I'm 71 years. Thanks again.

Yes I want to replace my k9k 724 Renault Megane2-1.5dci engine with a standard (no fuel injection) engine. I need help to know what make, model, or year engines would replace this Renault engine without much modifications.
Thanks much.

Looks like I replied to your other post on this. I will close this one but this post had some more info of you don't want to do many modifications. If this is the case, that really complicates things. I don't see any engines that say they bolt into your vehicle. Unfortunately we are not going to give you the level of detail that you are looking for because we have not done this swap. The best suggestion we can make is to find someone who has actually done this and find out what you will need to do so that you can go into it knowing what needs to be done.

Some of the other guys can weigh in if they have run across people who have done this.
