Car wont crank or start. Has no interrior lights and gear selector does does not indicate any gear at all

I just put a new engine in this car and after I checked and double checked to see if all the connections were correct, I went to start it and nothing happened. Then I lookeed over it again and tried once more nothing. Before we even replaced the motor it was doing the same thing. It had no interrior lights, no door chime, brake lights not working, the windows will not go up or down on any window, the key fob will not lock and unlock the car and gear selector does not show whar gear I was in. I am thinking that it may be the body control module but I am not to sure. I can hear the starter engage when I turn the key and I can hear the fuel pump. The car does not show itself in park at all. Im thinking that may have something to do with it also. Oh and also the battery in the car has been dead for about a month. Please help thank you
