I installed an aftermarket backup camera that received power from the cigarette lighter. It worked fine. I ran the wires for the camera from the trunk to the front on the driver's side. Now the car will not start. The battery is new. I checked the relevant fuses in my opinion. I pulled the battery fuse block off and checked it by visually checking for signs of being blown. I replaced the brake switch. When I get into the car and shut the door, the press brake light comes on. I put on the brake and push the start button, and nothing happens. No accessory lights come on. Headlights work fine. The Dome light works. The brake lights work. I put the fob in the slot and still no luck. The battery was disconnected for a few minutes when I checked the battery fuse block. It was running fine before I messed with it.

It sounds like you had a voltage surge which happens, you can try to disconnect the battery overnight to see if it resets the system. If not, it sounds like the IPDM got shorted out which happens, but it is easy to replace because it-self learns. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

I tried the overnight battery disconnect with no luck. I ordered the part suggested and it will be in next Friday or Monday.

Hmm, does the engine crank over? Does the security light flash when trying to crank it over? Also, let's do a CAN scan which is easy to see what comes up. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

and

Please let me know.
