I’ve installed a new battery and alternator, as well as replaced the bolts that connect the terminals to the battery. Before doing this, my car stalled and was no longer to drive by pressing the gas. I turned it off and waited about 10 minutes and had to rev the engine while cranking it for it to start and I slowly drove it back home. After replacing the alternator and battery, my car drove for about a week before doing the same thing again. The meter that shows the battery voltage in my car was a line before empty. I'm not sure why a new battery would need charging... And I'm not sure what could be the issue either. I was told I may need a new catalytic converter by a muffler shop but they told me it wasn’t very urgent. I've thought about my terminals possibly being bad. About a week before my car initially stalled, someone asked me to jump their car and they hooked up the cables themselves and their car never started. I'm not sure if they possibly did it wrong, and now my terminals are messed up. I’m completely losing hope and now I'm relying on some type of answer. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

The battery may have failed because it isn't being charged by the new alternator. What I need you to do is charge the battery so you can start the engine and then we need to check the alternator output.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Do this and let me know the results.

Take care,
