The car shifted suddenly from drive to neutral doing 65 on hwy. The tachometer went all the way over then the car shut off. Pulled over did a reset by pulling fuse and disconnecting battery cable. It was hesitant but did finally start all seemed good drove about 5 to 10 miles down the road and suddenly it lost all power and shut off. Tried the reset thing again but nothing. Battery is good lights come on it turns over kind of sounds like a really dead battery, but everything comes on and now EPS light stays on. Could that effect the immobilizer.

Hi,

Is it possible for you to record it cranking and upload it for me to hear? Also, have you scanned the computer for diagnostic trouble codes?

Here is a link that explains how to scan the can-bus. You should do this to see what codes are stored.

Let me know as much as you can.

Joe

Hi,

The starter relay is present. I don't know all the options the vehicle has, but chances are nothing is missing that is related.

When you hear the clicking, is it coming from the starter motor or a different location such as the relay? I copied your pic and highlighted the starter relay. Switch it with a different one having the same part number to see if it changes things.

Also, make sure the battery cables are tight and clean and the battery is fully charged.

Let me know.

Hi,

The code indicates a large evap leak. This is usually because the fuel cap is bad or missing, the fuel filler to the tank is faulty, or there are fuel vapor hoses off in the system.

I don't feel this would affect the transmission, but it could and would affect drivability as far as how the engine performs.

I attached two pics below. I circled or highlighted areas of interest for the leak.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe
