Hello I’ve been having trouble with my car shaking and stalling. Yesterday while I was driving and coming to a red light, my car started to shake and it stalled on the road but didn’t have any issues turning back on. The air conditioner was also running at the time though the car will also start shaking when it’s off. The car only shakes while I’m stopped at a red light with my foot on the brake and transmission still in drive. It started to shake again that same day when I was held up in traffic so what I did was put the transmission in park and it all of a sudden stopped shaking. I took my car to autozone to get the battery checked but there was no issue there. I also took my car to a friend that has a scanner tool yesterday and though I have no check engine light on my dash 1 fault code was displayed on the scanner screen that read “ code: P05A1:00-6C CMDTCs active grill air shutter A Position sensor min/max stop performance. Could this code be why my car is shaking and turning off? If so can someone point me to the direction of what part I need to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

This sounds like you have an ignition coil or spark plug that is not working. Does your friend's scanner do misfire counts? If so, it will show the cylinder that is misfiring even though the code has not yet been triggered. I would remove the spark plug and install fresh ones to see if that fixes it.

Here are two guides to help us fix the problem with instructions in the images below to help you with your car:

and

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens. Also, some engines have a spark plug wire which may have popped off check for that as well.

I just replaced all eight spark plugs about two months ago due to the shaking of the car, but I didn’t replace the coils. I also didn’t gap the spark plugs due to the guy at AutoZone telling me they already come “pre gapped”. Do you believe that the coils are the issue?

Yep, the coils go out all the time. Use a name brand part, does your car have wires? If so, I would replace those as well. Please let me know what you find. Is the engine making any kind of abnormal noise?

It might very well be the coils, me and a friend were unplugging them one by one last night and the engine seemed unfazed by 1 or 2 of them. I just ordered all 8 coils online from a Ford dealership I will definitely let you know. Thank you

Hello, I changed all ignition coils on my car, and everything seemed to be running fine for a few days. Today I received a “Check Fuel Fill inlet “message on my car dash. The car is also starting to turn off when at idle in park and have been noticing more that my car consumes more gas.
