Shut off while driving and will not crank?

I was driving my car the other night and it kind of hesitated and jumped a little bit and then it stopped. and I had to have it took back to the house the gas cap light keeps coming on loose gas cap or something and the engine light keeps coming on the solid light and now it won't crank at all.

Hi,

When you say it won't crank, do you mean the starter isn't working or it does, but the engine doesn't start?
