Don't always rely on the CEL to give you a heads-up. Half of the time it doesn't work. Scan the computer with and w/o the CEL

I am looking in to buying a 2003 Ford Focus. The car has a problem in which it stalls. The owner has replaced the engine and put multiple fuel pumps on the car and the problem is still there. She said that if you let the car sit for about 20 mins it will crank right up and run fine until it starts to chug and then goes dead again. She said it may go months without doing this. Any ideas?

I'd be looking for a Chrysler, Toyota, or Hyundai; definitely not a Ford or GM, and certainly not one that you have to fix right off the bat.

Car is turned on, works great as it warms up, once it settles to idle it shakes lots, back and forth, put it in drive it also shakes but it runs great, already changed iac, intake, exhaust, coil, spark plugs, cables, intake sensor, thermostat, and much more, what could it be?

I have a ZX3. Sat for 4 months now won't run. It will run very rough for 20 seconds then die. Seems to be very hot at the front of engine. Thanks.

Check the fuel pressure. It may be low. A compression test would be good too to make sure the motor is ok.
