Has anyone primed the fuel system after you put the pump in? When you change the pump, you get a lot of air in the fuel lines, and the car will not start because it gets inconsistent fuel flow. Priming it is a simple process though. Just turn the key on for three seconds, then off. Rinse and repeat twenty times. Then try to start it.
Aside from that, I would ask if the check engine/service engine light is on. If so, get it scanned. AutoZone, Advance Auto, O'reilly Auto, and Pepboys all scan for codes for free. Come back here with the actual code numbers and we will see what we can find.
I would also ask if the car has ever had a tune up? If so, what parts were used? Be as specific as possible.
You might also want to check the fuses. A blown fuse in a newer car can wreak havoc on the car.
Let us know and we will go from there.
