It has had the transmission rebuilt and a lot done to the motor. It has been sitting for awhile now cause it won't go. It will start every time you crank it and ideals good. When you put it in drive it shuts off every time. The spark plugs where changed, the coil packs where changed, transmission filter was changed also. Just can't figure it out. It can be jacked up off the ground just a hair and it will go but as soon as you let it down it shuts off. Someone said the torque converter, but we don't know. Then we noticed a ground wire unhooked from something in the driver side rear above the tire and do not know what it goes too.

Good morning,

Yes, the torque converter was my first thought as well. It sounds like it is locked up and stall the engine at idle.

Was the converter replaced as part of the rebuild? If it was, then it sounds like a warranty issue.

I attached a picture of the location for you.

I'm not sure, everything was done before I bought it. This is the second time this has happened. The first time we replaced the coil packs and knocked a whole in the catalytic converter and it started working again. It drove for about 2 months and it happened again, the exact same thing.

I would have someone check it for you.

The converter would not cause this issue.

You could try cleaning the throttle body but I doubt that is it.

If it was, there would be a code stored for the solenoid activity.

Can you check again for any codes stored?
