I had a mechanic replace the alternator today on my Caddy STS ($300). Afterwards I went outr and bought a brand new battery as well ($100). When everything was connected, at first it was fine. I had the dash computer readout showing 14.2 and it was peachy. Then I took a test drive to the store and it kept going down and down. By the time I made it back home it was at 12.1.

Any suggestions? Did I just get hosed on an alternator job?
