1999 Cadillac Deville Air Conditoning comes and goes

1999 Cadillac DeVille, 120520m, I start engine and air conditioning system comes on, within the past couple of weeks, the AC will stop. Sometimes it will come back on and sometimes is does not come on at all. I can feel the cold air coming thru the vents as I drive, today the AC came on and within one minute it stopped and did not come on. Reached my destinatiion, no AC. Left destination AC came back on. What am I dealing with?

There could be a shorted wire or contact in the control unit. If you can remove this, probe the wires for a short to ground.

Also, your a/c system is controlled by the body control computer. Sometimes they go haywire, but I doubt this is the case with yours. You can have it scanned with a capable scanner. (All scanners can't read these codes)
