1987 Cadillac Brougham Not firing over

I just got this car off my brother n laws uncle and they had it runing, at the time they installed a new distributor and its in time but when we brong the car home it smells like its flooding but at the same time not getting any fuel I checked to make sure that the carburator is getting fuel and it is now think in mind that its a quadrajunk carb. Lol. But the only thing I can guess in replace the carb so before I spend the money I wanting to know what else to check or do thanks

First would be to make sure it is getting spark. If it is getting spark, what is the condition of the plugs, they may be fuel fouled. Prop the choke open, floor the pedal, and crank it a bit, it may clear the flooded condition. Try some starter fluid and see if you can get a sign of life. If you have strong spark, and it does not fire on starter fluid, pull the plugs and check them for wetness.
