trunk pull down

Hi. My son has a 1989 Buick Riviera 168000 miles and a 6 cyl 3.8L engine. The trunk will shut but it will not close completely. We bought a new trunk pull down motor and replaced the old one and replaced the fuse, but it still wont close completely. I dont hear the motor trying to close it, but I have no idea. Help!! Thank you.

Is the fuse still good or did it pop? Everything plugged in? Might want to get a test light and check for power at the latch.Also check the ground for good connection. Plus check the power relay that controls the truck latch operation to find that you will need a manual. check here https://www.2carpros.com/kpages/auto_repair_manuals.htm
