1995 Buick Riviera dont really know

when i drive sometimes the oil light and battery go red and i cant move the wheel cant turn,a red dot comes on in the temp gage and then all i do is put it in park turn it off wait a minute and then start it again what is the problem?? i can upload a photo if necessary

It sounds like the drive belt may be stopping for some reason. Any one of the components freezing up could be causing it. The fact that shutting it off and restarting helps, could make the A/C system highly suspect but there has to be issues with the belt and tensioner for it not to stall the engine.
All this would have to be verified during the problem.
