When I start my car in the morning it takes about
15 or more minutes for the ticking sound from the top part of the engine goes away. The motor also
idles very rough.

I had one mechanic look at it breifly after the motor was already warm so the noise had gone and it idled just fine.

He asked me to leave it overnite so he could hear it in the morning, but he thought it sounded like a sticky lifter.

Are there products like Slick 50 or synthetic oils that can help this, or do I have to replace the lifter altogether?

Thanks

There are many products that are available. However, I can't say which work or not.

Let me know if you have questions.
