Hello all, there is a major issue with my buick.

One Sometime around Thanksgiving, I went to the store came out no more than 5 minutes later. Start my car then it just cuts off. I tried maybe 5 more times then I had my car towed back to the house. My step dad and nearly everybody else assumed it was the fuel pump and that was changed no more than 2 months prior, and maybe it wasnt getting enough pressure. We bought a new fuel pump. That wasnt hardly the case. $300 dollars down the drain for a new fuel pump. Then, we buy a diagnostic test thingy, that tells us that one of the fuses or something to that nature, we bought 3 new ones. Those didnt work. So around a couple weeks ago we found that the wires were corroded. So we re-wired the pump to the lights, so every time I start my car I have to turn the lights on. We might try to run it to the daytime lights since those never go off. So, if anyone has a solution to this problem please tell me, we seriously tried every thing. Thanks.

By the way car is a GS.

When you turn key to run -do you hear the fuel pump for 2secs if not check the fuel pump fuse 15amp, and test the fuel pump relay if both good, test the fuel pump control of the relay on the computer. The computer energizes the fuel pump for 2secs that's it to prime the fuel system, when it starts the oil pressure sending unit powers the pump from there on.

Did you disconnect your rigging of the fuel pump. If so test the fuel pump relay or swap with a like one and see what happens

Yes we did that also, and the relay was replaced.

There's a short circuit within the fuel pump circuit if its doing that.

Would it start up?

Yeah it starts just fine, then it just cuts off, I really notice that when the rpm gets below maybe 2 it dies out, but another thing when I step on gas the car stays on only if the rpm is above maybe 6 or 7.

Check the idle air control valve, throttle position sensor and MAF to include the PCV and EGR valves.
