1996 Buick Regal 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 22000k miles

i just changed the water pump, themostat, and I still dont have any heat, is there a trick to bleeding the air out of the system, could it be an air lock, or something else?

Hi:
If there is a bleeder, it will be on the thermostat housing. Also, with the engine running, hot, and the heater on, do both heater core hoses get hot?

Let me know.

Yes there is a bleeder screw on top, and no only the "in" hose is hot "return" hose is not just warm. I have added a flush adaptor to the "return" hose as well, hoping bleed air out of there. Please help me!

Thanks Joe

Hi:
If both heater core hoses are not hot, chances are the heater core is plugged. I would try flushing it directly with a garden hose. See if there is any flow through it.

Let me know what you find. Oh. Did you try to bleed the system at the bleeder?

Hi:
Now you have me at a loss. If you remove the return from the core, are you getting coolant? It sounds like if there is an air block, it's in the core. Try removing the return line to see if there is air in the system then replace it. Also, is the coolant circullating well in the radiator?

Ok I have proper flow in the rad, there is a small amout of coolant in the return line. As soon as I turn the fan on high I lose heat. But now that the weather is warming up it is hard to tell. I have tried just about everything. But since I replaced my water pump it seems to have better flow in the rad. Could there be a blockage somewhere else like in the engine? Do you think it is a bigger issue then just an air blockage?
Thanks Joe
