I have a 95 buick lesabre with 100,000 miles. It has dual climate control. I had the ac reacharged the other day and it worked fine for that day. The man who filled it told me to use my hose to spray off the front of the condenser for better performance which I did when I got home. The next day my ac was not blowing out cold anymore. Did I do something wrong by cleaning that? Or does it sound like I just have a leak? Would he have been able to tell if there was a problem when he was filling it? It wasn't actually at a service station. This man sits outside of a quaker oil change and fills ac from his van.

No you can, t tell if there is a leak when charging the system. If the leak is big enough you can tell that it has a leak when vacuming out the system. If he even did this. For the most part leaks are found by one of two ways one charge the system with a dye so the leak can be spoted with a black light. Or charge the system with a small amount of freon and use a leak detector. That way if there is a leak it doesn't take that long to suck the freon back out. The leak detecter think is a better method, but I use both methods together. That way if I don't find the leak because it is in the dash or what ever then when the person comes back I can find the leak with the blacklamp if that's the problem.
