1998 Buick Lesabre prime engine oil system

Hi the car has been sitting about a year
have replaced water pump and belt
i need to prime the oil pump or system
so I can start the engine. How do i
prime the system. Thanks john

P.S. I shoud add that the oil pump is
in the front in back of the balancer.
engine is 3.8L 6 cyl.

You can pull the distriutor out and put a driver that fits the oil pump drive and not hit the cam gear and usea a large drill to turn the pump over. Or disconect the coil or coil wires and crank the engine to prime it. It should be ok to do that. Then start it up.

Thanks for your input! But that ok for my
old 350 or any engine that has a dist.
This oil pump is driven by the crankshaft.

Then disconnect the coil pack so the car won't start and just crank the engine over you still have residual oil in thebearings so they won't be dry.
