I have a 97 buick century custom rouhly 70,000 miles auot tranny, the acre is well maintained . The problemm is the check engine light is coming upon ignitiion, and the car ppears to br running rough now.

Have the computer scan for code/s, there's a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to come on. That is your starting point of diagnosis-finding out what's the problem.
