I would like to find out; how many axles are there on a car, when they say $xxx.xx pre-axle, what does pre-axles mean?

If you are paying a toll at a bridge and they charge by the axel a car has 2 axels, front and rear. Sorry, couldn't resist.

I assume you have gotten a quote for a repair on your car. They would mean per wheel when talking about a repair to an axel shaft, CV joint, strut, etc.
