Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Buick Century 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

this morning I was taking my grandkids to school, the car was running perfect.I turned on the heater to take away the chill and the car just cut off. It will turn over but it will not start. Have check fuel and all fuel areas are fine, but we have no spark when the car is turning over. No spark what so ever. Please if you can tell me what might be wrong or what to check next.I thought it might be the ignition coil, but dont want to start replacing parts that are unneeded. Is there a way to check to see if it is the ignition coil without having to take it to a mechanic, I am on very little funds and dont have the money at this time to put it in the shop or get it hooked to the machine that can check it to see what is wrong.

No spark

You can test the coil by using an ohmmeter to check the coil's primary and secondary resistances.

No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
