So, no luck with what I thought the problem was. All I did was end up accidentally cutting the wire to the gas gauge. Fixed it though. The problem must be within the trunk of the car. Calling Honda tomorrow to find out exactly where the issue was.

So, there is a fuse # 9 and a brake light control relay under the hood in the fuse panel by the left side of the engine bay that controls the system. here is a guide to check the fuse and the fuse and relay locations in the images below. Also included the brake light system wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Apparently, the brake light relay is part of the circuit board inside the fuse panel under the hood.

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

I checked fuse #10. The fuses are good. A pin on the Haynes slipped out.

So it is working now? It sounds like a wire in the connector pulled out, can you upload a picture of where the pin is please?

Still trying to figure that out. It has to be one of two places. Under the kick plate or in the trunk.

I spoke with Honda today and I was told where exactly the issue was. It's the connector in the back.

Well, I was told it’s from opening the trunk. There's that line of wires that run along the left side of the trunk so opening and closing it I guess wore out the wiring. My trunk opens fast. The plugs I need to get to are in the trunk. My subwoofer is pretty loud so that might have rattled it out of the plug.
