2006 BMW X5 Automatic Start of AC when Car Starts

Hello,

I have an 2006 X5 4.4i and everytime I start the car the AC automatically turns on. Is there way to disable the AC from strating when I start the car?

The issue will require resetting the car/key memory. This is an operation that the dealer or some entity with the proprietary BMW software can do. It will cost about $100 for the dealer to do it, can't you just live with it the way it is?
