I took my car to my local BMW dealer for a lube, oil & filter and was told (and shown) myleft fron axle boot had split. There was grease all over the area and wheel rim. Why would this happen. It cost me $800.0 to fix it. Also they had to replace my rear lower spring pads due to shifting. This was warranty as it was just done 20 months ago. 15,000 miles ago. Is this what I have to look forward to in the future?

The car is going to be somewhat high maintanence. The axle boot is possibly an age issue and they usually dont have a high failure rate after replacement. The spring perches are another matter. I have had springs crack and cause an issue with the perches but the perches themselves are not what I would consider a high failure rate item. Was there a complaint regarding the perches? Or did they replace them for their own reasons?
