Is there any special way to install these axles right and left sides or is this straight forward like any other cars

The difference between BMW and others is the inboard joint, you will need to remove the bolts holding the two flanges together.

these axles do not have flanges it seams to me they just pull out there is nothing holding them in

Then it's OK to pop it out, BMW used them when I was working on em. Few years back!

When you remove the old one you will see a lock ring in a groove at the inner end. They just push in.I used a dead blow hammer, it's a sand filled plastec hammer, it causes no damage to the metal.
