Makes a whistling noise when I first start it up?

I have a '98 328is BMW that makes a whistling noise when I first start it up, then continues this for a couple miles. What could be causing this noise? Thank you for your time.

The deflection pulley is notorius for doing what you describe, it is the pulley that is on the bolt for the alternator

This can be the idle control valve hose leaking which will make a whistle noise as the valve opens when the engine is cold. Here is the location so you can check it out. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes
