engine idles rough momentarily on 1st start of day. sometimes can even stall. acts like it is out of fuel. after it finds idle, runs great. no codes from PCM. does fuel pump have backflow valve to keep system primed?? could this be problem?? thanx

Yes there is a check valve at the pump and you may have identified the cold start issue. Try putting a fuel pressure gauge on it and let it sit overnight. The non-return system has a fitting at the fuel filter you can tap on to. The filter is under the car on the left side by the frame rail.
