I have a rattling noise coming from the engine compartment. The sound, itself, goes in and out. It had been faint until today, when it became quite loud. When I rev the engine the rattling would escalte at the same rate to that of the reving. I am uncertain as to what it is or if I should be overly concerned.
A possible cause of the odd rattle could be correlated to an issue I had a ways back. I had been changing my oil and only half of the oil plug came out. The other half was no where to be found. I went and got another plug to replace the old one, but never dismantled the oil pan to find the rest of the oil plug. Once The rattling noise may be the remainder of the old plug somewhere rattling back and forth. If this is the case would this sound just be something that is an annoyance that I could fix when I have the appropriate funds, or do I need to fix as soon as possible?
