1986 BMW 325 wipers

Electrical problem
1986 BMW 325 4 cyl Automatic

I turned on the wipers, fluid started shooting out, I could change speeds, but, could not stop wipers until I shut down engine?

There is a fuse box under hood, locate it and open the lid. There is a rectangular black module in there, it is the wiper control relay, it is likely to be the fault. It may also be the control stalk on the steering column. If the stalk seems funky, I would think jiggling it might snap it out of it's dilemma, otherwise check the relay module. If you need parts, call Autobahn BMW dismantling @ (619)444-2290 and speak to John or Sean. Ot's much cheaper than new at the dealer(stealer?)
