I replaced front right bearings a week a go. My mechanic and I drove yesterday on A27 from Brighton. I had 70 mph end suddenly when lock up this same wheel and my mechanic said it was faulty bearings.
I thing he did something wrong while he replaced?

Hi,

It is always hard to say if someone did something wrong based on what you can write website because we are not looking at the car or seeing the parts but based on the process for replacing the wheel bearings, it is hard to see how you get a bad bearing. Anything is possible but normally if a bearing is going bad or fails, it will start making a growling noise and eventually completely fail.

Either way, if he is going to fix it, just ask him if you can have the old parts. This way you can see what he replaced and if it truly was a wheel bearing. If it was, then send a picture over and we can see if there is any sign of something he did wrong.

Again, these bearings really only go in one way so if it was driving okay I can't see what he would have done wrong other than not torquing it properly.
