Car occasionally does not turn. If I I wiggle the clamp it will. Not the battery. I was told it was the wires running into the battery clamp. Want to replace the clamp but not sure how to do this. It doesn't seem to be much room for cutting and splicing. Help.

Can you get a picture of the cable? The reason is, you most likely don't need to cut and splice the terminal end on. More than likely it is like this video where you can remove the terminal and install a new one. Also, you may be able to just tighten it. However, get a couple pictures so we can see the style that is on there currently. Thanks

You see it has the crimped metal bracket over it.

Got it. That is what I suspected. So you can do two things. First, you can take the terminal off and try and squeeze the crimp of the wire to tighten the connection at number 1. If this does not work, then just unclip the plastic cover at number 2 and 3 and you will be able to cut the wrapping back to number 4 to give yourself more room to replace the terminal end.

However the most important reason to do this is to check the wiring inside this just to make sure you don't have an issue with the wire rather then the connection.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense. Thanks

I think I got it. What should I squeeze the crimp with? It looks pretty tough? Also, how will I know if there is an issue with the wires? What would I look for? Thanks for your patience.

I would use vice grips to squeeze them because that will allow you to get them progressively tighter. As for the wire, you may not see anything. You just want to gently wiggle the wire in different places to see when it acts up. Basically narrow the problem area down if the terminal doesn't fix it. However, if you see a rub through or bare exposed wire, then that is not good and you need to wrap that with electrical tape.

Let me know what you find with all this and we can go from there. Thanks
