The headlights were left on and ran my battery dead. Tried jumping the car. Battery wouldn't charge. Bought a new battery. Car cranks over but won't start. Any ideas?

Hi,

I need to confirm the engine size. If it is a 4motion, (AWD) it should have a V6 engine and not a 4 cylinder. If it is a 4 cylinder Turbo, then it isn't an AWD.

Let me know.
Joe

No problem whatsoever. LOL I just wanted to be sure. Okay, if it isn't starting but the engine turns, first take a look through this link. It explains the most common causes of a crank no start. If it doesn't help, let me know. Also, I will need to know if the engine is getting spark and fuel. The easiest thing to try is see if it starts for a couple seconds and then stalls using starting fluid. If it does, then we know it's a fuel related issue. If it doesn't even try to start, then it's likely an ignition related issue.

Here are three links. The two are for checking for ignition spark and fuel pressure. If you try the trick with starting fluid, you can bypass them.

Also, I need you to check fuse F6 in the under hood fuse box. I highlighted it in the attached pic. While check it, make sure you don't see any blown fuses.

Let me know what you find. Also, there are two different places the battery could be located, under the hood or in the luggage compartment. Please let me know where this one is located.

Joe
